Dr. Robert Chance Algar graduated from the University of the South, Sewanee in 1995 with a BA in Literature and completed his medical degree at Vanderbilt University Medical School in 1999. From 1999 to 2003 he completed residency training in Neurology at New York Hospital ( Weill Medical College , Cornell University) and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He was selected to serve as Chief Resident or Neurology for 2002-2003. In 2004, he completed additional training in Neurophysiology (EMG, Nerve Conduction Studies and EEG) at New York Hospital and the Weill-Cornell Peripheral Neuropathy Center . He joined the Neurology Medical Group of Diablo Valley in 2004 and maintains a special interest in peripheral neuropathy.
